Thanks Pete!
To be honest, I had to wipe away the tears after I read your response - you touched on a tender piece.
Thanks for taking the time to care - I'm grateful to have you in my life as well!

I find it quite amazing that this computer that I used to think was so impersonal and a hindrance to intimacy has actually become the doorway to an entire world of connections and relationships that would otherwise have been quite unlikely!

Computers can certainly fall into the same category as TV - mindless, brain candy. But the interactive and collaborative nature of Web 2.0 has really opened up a whole new dimension.

I think that's really hard to comprehend until you've experienced it! So many parents and teachers just shake their heads when kids talk about Facebook, etc...

I think I'm starting to get it now...

Hi Pete,
Wow - what a hopeful message!
Can't say I'm feeling joy today - it's been rather overwhelming for me.
I'm just trying to remind myself that this moment is here to teach me something and have faith that the joy will come back...

I agree that thinking about death is a good way to put perspective around how we want to live!

I just saw Randy Pausch's "last lecture" last week & it had quite an impact on me (http://www.iwasthinking.ca/2008/04/03/living-like-youre-dying/)

Hope your great day continues!
